Have you ever tried macadamia milk? Not only do macadamia nuts taste amazing when they're freshly roasted and salted, but they also make a beautiful and creamy plant-based milk!

We've tried many store-bought macadamia milks but they all seem to be very expensive so we wanted to make our own! That is why we are sharing this recipe that is super simple and delicious.

The BEST Homemade Macadamia Milk Recipe

Ingredients

  • 140g / 1 cup macadamia nuts raw, unsalted

  • 1L / 4 cups filtered water

  • a good pinch of salt

Directions

  • First, soak macadamia nuts for 4-6hours (or over night) in salt water (mix 1 teaspoon salt with water). The nuts have to be fully covered. Keep in mind that they'll grow a bit when soaking, so just add some extra water to keep them submerged.

  • After soaking, drain and rinse macadamias thoroughly.

  • Place nuts together with 1L/4 cups of water and salt into a blender of choice and blend until smooth. In my NutriBullet it takes less than a minute.

  • Place your nut milk bag (or your alternative) over a jug or big bowl that can hold 1L/4 cups of water. Strain Macadamia Milk through the bag and squeeze out all the liquid until only the nut pulp is left.

  • Pour your Macadamia Milk into a bottle, jar or container of choice and keep in the fridge. Shake well before using!
