Plastic Free July challenges us to refuse single-use plastics for one month and use eco-friendly, zero waste alternatives in their place. The goal is to understand just how much waste we can produce and just how easy it is to reduce the amount of waste with a few easy swaps.
How to Participate
-
Pledge to not use plastic for an entire month. You can do that here.
-
Do you research. Choose what zero waste swaps you want to bring into your eco home starting this month. It's a great time to experiment with different products and alternatives.
-
Make a game plan. Decide what plastic products you are ditching this month and invest in zero waste alternatives instead.
-
Do a trash audit. The idea is to collect all of your trash, recyclable and compostable items for a certain time period to analyze what types of waste you're creating at home. The purpose of a trash audit is to help you determine areas where you can improve on and reduce your trash.
-
Remember: progress over perfection
