8 FREE & Eco-Friendly Holiday Traditions for Your Family

Green City Living Co.

My favourite part about the winter season has always been the fun holiday traditions! Because of the cold weather, most of the time we spend is indoors which allows us to spend some time reflecting and gravitating toward things that make us feel warm, cozy, happy, and nostalgic. Check out our list of eight free and eco-friendly holiday traditions that you can do with your family during the cold winter months!

Here Are 8 FREE & Eco-Friendly Holiday Traditions for Your Family:

1. Rest and reflect. Ask your family to share three things they are grateful for this holiday season.

2. Make an activity list with the family of winter activities they want to do. Look at the weather and pick the best "outside days" each week. Do one to two activities a week on your outside days. This will give your kids something to look forward to each week.

3. Enjoy a family board game night!

4. Bake your favourite dessert with the family.

5. Relax and pick out some classic winter movies to enjoy

6. Wrap your gifts in eco-friendly wrapping paper with your kids. You can use old fabric or recyclable wrapping paper!

7. Get dressed for the cold weather and go sledding or tubing!

8. Make your family some warm hot chocolates with LOTS of marshmallows to enjoy by the fireplace.
