Many countries such as Canada are in the process of banning the distribution of plastic bags in stores, and the perfect replacement for them are reusable bag! They significantly help reduce the number of plastic bags collecting in our landfills!

2. Swap plastic disposable's in the kitchen for reusable products

Plastic wrap, aluminum foil, paper towels and plastic bags may be convenient, but they create a ton of waste and are very toxic. Try swapping for beeswax food wraps, reusable bowl covers and reusable food bags! They will keep your foods just as fresh, and will minimize the amount of trash coming from your household on a daily basis. In addition, they are non-toxic and made from natural materials. 

3. Try buying your seasonings, nuts and other dry goods from bulk stores

Bulk stores are a great way to avoid using and purchasing products that use plastic packaging. Try sticking to foods that have zero waste packaging or take your reusable containers to your local bulk store and stock up on some amazing goods!

4. Reduce the food waste in your home

Before putting food in the trash, try to ask yourself if it is so far gone that you really need to get rid of it. Try to reuse foods by incorporating them into other dishes or making something new out of it. Develop the habit of noting the expiry dates of food in your fridge and try to plan your meals accordingly.
